Create Their Own Show at Sea!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to create your own murder mystery?   Did you ever dream about being on stage?    You can make your dream come true.  Join Murders R Us in a “Mystery at Sea®”  Cruise on the Brilliance of the Seas from January 11-21, 2008 and visit Aruba, the Panama Canal, Costa Rica, and Grand Cayman and still have time to “do a murder!”

Join veteran writer, director and performer, Paul Warshauer.  He'll present a unique workshop that will provide the fun and excitement of writing and performing a murder mystery that will delight amateur and veteran sleuths alike.  No previous acting or writing experience is necessary.

Mr. Warshauer has written and directed over 180 original murder mysteries around the world and will lead this workshop.  Participants will learn about the history of the murder mystery then help write a show.  Participants will play roles that are developed during the writing and rehearsal process.  Those passengers who are only interested in writing the murder mystery will develop the story line and characters.  Others who want to perform will attend rehearsals which will consist of scene development through improvisation.  Passengers who are interested in writing and performing are welcome to do both.  All passengers participating in the murder mystery workshop are welcome to attend all sessions and rehearsals.  It will be a safe and creative environment.

Participating passengers will be divided into two teams (Blue Team and Gold Team) and will present their show during the cruise for other passengers and guests on stage!  It is all fun under the sun!

The general format of the performance will be as follows: The audience listens to an introduction by Mr. Warshauer, the characters are then introduced on stage, a scene is presented by the performers, all the while the audience is listening for clues and eavesdropping on conversations.  When the murder is revealed, the audience is allowed to cross examine the suspects.  After the audience renders their verdict, the victim returns from the grave to tell all!

There is no real memorization but a lot of fun and improvisation!  Many people have seen performances of murder mysteries during a cruise but this cruise offers passengers an opportunity to write and perform in the show.  The costumes are street clothes provided by the cast and makeup and props are provided by MurdersR .  The price for the Cruise will include an additional charge of $100 per person for the Murder Mystery workbook and the script preparation material (scripts must be kept confidential and not shared with other).
